This is the property if quiet privacy is your desire! The view of the bay pictured is exactly the view you get from the pool, and the closest neighbor who can see you on the pool is at least a haf mile away & would need binoculars to see you lounging on the deck. ;-) Robin & Walt are awesome hospitality liaisons & are very responsive to issues... even if there is nothing they can do! The internet was intermittent, and Robin tracked down the cause to an island-wide issue and kept us updated on ETA for the resolution. The house was also as described/photoed, so no surprises. The beds were remarkably comfortable for someone used to sleeping on a Tempurpedic! It's off the beaten path, so a rental car is necessary as the nearest grocery is a few miles away. We will return someday to re-experience this gem.

Like many prior reviews mention, I have to say the pictures do not do this property justice. Such an amazing private view overlooking the ocean, with a wonderful pool and patio for relaxing. It was great to have a grill on the patio for a relaxing dine-in option. We felt so comfortable and at home at this location and really miss it!!! This house really captures the laid back island spirit... Robin and Walt were great property managers- they met us at the airport, helped us with our luggage and rental car, brought us to a grocery store, and then lead us to the property. Very helpful and welcoming :) We would love to go back soon! Thanks Landings, we had a great time!

Love, love, loved this house and the views of Salt River! We have been to the island many times, but this was our first trip with our daughter (4 1/2 months old) and parents. Perfect set-up for our stay. The two master sweets are located on each end of the home which provides a nice amount of privacy. I loved the living, kitchen, dining room area as it is all open concept. The kitchen is large and we never had the issue of bumping into each other while cooking. Absolutely loved the deck and pool area. It was close to the home so you could easily pop back and forth for drinks and food. The pool has dark tile which soaks up the sun and makes for a nice luke warm water temperature. Loved being able to swim around and not be cold! The grill is a Weber and it was great! An extra propane tank was provided in case we ran out during our stay. Lastly, the bed was amazing. I believe I read in the description that new mattresses had recently been provided at the property. Well...they did a heck of a job. I would love to purchase the mattress that we slept on. So comfortable!!!! Each bedroom and living room is equipped with a TV which was nice. Tradewind breezes were great and the louvered windows with screens provided ample air without letting in bugs (even though their weren't many bugs that we saw). As I mentioned before, we have been to island many times...however I would have to say this was one of the first houses we have rented that I would consider buying if it came on the market.

Beautiful house, amazing view. Very peaceful. We stayed with our daughters age 20 and 7 and had a great time. Christie met us at airport and we followed her to the house and also provided us with a list of restaurants to try, great service. We went to all parts of the island and it was a nice quiet retreat to return to. Nice landscaping in front and views were awesome in back. Great floor plan and lay out. Each bedroom has it's own balcony and bathroom. Decorated with a nice Caribbean style. We would stay again, well worth the rental price. Thank you!!

This was the second time renting this property. I wouldn't change anything from my original review from 2014. The property is still exceptional, the rental "process" very professional. Nice to have a property manager in island should a problem arise. Not a single problem during our stay. We were 2 couples this time and the layout was great. The bedrooms on opposite sides of the house provided excellent privacy and the great room was plenty roomy. It kills me to recommend this property - I really would prefer to keep is a secret.

A wonderful place to stay, quiet, clean and a short drive to any part of the island. Three weeks of paradise! Christie met us at the airport and we followed her to the home and nearby grocery store. She returned our phone calls quickly and responded immediately to any concerns. The description is exactly as described, no disappointments. The home is very well equipped and the view is outstanding! We took in some of the local sites and activities; Cruzan Rum Factory, Fort Christiansvaern, Big Beards Sunset Cruise, Whim Estate Plantation and Rain Forest. Lunched at quite a few local restaurants and was only disappointed with one, Rum Runners. We had excellent meals at Cane Bay, Pickled Greek, and Blue Water Terrace. If you are interested, book it, you will not be disappointed.

We have been renting through homeaway/ vrbo for the last 7 years. "The Landings" was by far the best place; the pictures do not do it justice. It was very reasonably priced for such a large, well-stocked vacation home. It was very private and quiet. Although it was a little chilly, we enjoyed having our own private swimming pool that looked out towards the sea. Usually, the beds in vacation rentals are hard and uncomfortable. These beds were very comfortable and the sheets were nice and soft. Christie met us at the airport, helped us with the arrangements for a discount at the car rental place, and guided us to house. She gave us some great recommendations for the best food and beaches on the island. We hope that we can return to "The Landings" very soon!

Owner Response: Thank you so much and I am thrilled that you enjoyed your stay in St. Croix. We try and make improvements every year...unfortunately the pool heater improvement blew its top, if you will, and the repair efforts have been difficult. When I am down enjoying the Landings myself, It is always very difficult to leave! Christie and the whole staff at Calabash Realty do an outstanding and professional job managing and maintaining the would be an impossible task without them, Kudos! I hope you return to the Landings next year... Till Then! William G.

Great house, great view, great manager/agent. Tom Pinchbeck (the owner's agent, & with Calabash Realty) will meet you at the airport & guide you to the house, show you around and leave you to enjoy the house. We had a minor problem with the hot water & he responded immediately. The house is very well maintained & spotless when you arrive. Everything you need is provided. Perfect for 2 couples, 2 king beds probably don't work for a family with kids, but check with Tom to see if options are available. Fully airconditioned in all rooms. We didn't ever consider using it - perfect weather and constant breeze. Both bedrooms are very large - larger than the pictures show. Combo kitchen, dining room, living room is plenty roomy (8 people at dinner wouldn't be a crowd). There are neighbors, but you can't see them & seldom (barely) hear them. Water is filtered & UV treated - no need to buy water. Nice central island location to explore from. A car is a must - nothing within walking distance. Groceries, restaurants, Christiansted... all within 5 or 10 minutes drive. The listing data is accurate, except that the pictures just don't do justice to the view. Not a single reason to worry about renting this property - excellent in every aspect.

Owner Response: Thank you so very much for the compliments. I am so glad you had a great time at the Landings and also on St. Croix. I also give kudos to Tom, who makes the experience of owning a home in the islands a seamless one.

The house and St. Croix is wonderful. Tom met us at the airport and guided us to the house. The night drive was an adventure for us midwest flat-lander. The house is located high which translates to low humidity and nice breeze. The house was clean and very well-maintained. The beds were extremely comfortable and the kitchen and bathrooms were well stocked. We highly recommend the hike from Udall Point to Issac's Bay and Jack's Bay. Amazing views and amazing beaches.

Our much anticipated vacation started out badly when the first leg of our flight was cancelled due to mechanical failure. Being a very busy travel weekend, we were unable to get another flight to St Croix that day and had to head back home and re-plan everything. Not wanting to lose one precious day of vacation, I called The Landings' property manager, Tom Pinchbeck, to explain our situation and ask to change our arrival and departure date. Fortunately, the next Sunday was open. Then I got our flights re-scheduled Sunday to Sunday, the charter flight, and then the rental car all changed. There were many more travel woes the next day but eventually, we arrived on St Croix to a smiling Tom Pinchbeck with the rental car rep. Tom helped me retrieve our luggage while my husband signed the contract for the rental car. Tom led us to the villa and showed us all the need-to-know details then led us to the nearest food store to get some provisions. The Landings is so beautifully furnished and the next morning, we awoke to the amazing views of Salt River and the Caribbean. There were no obstructions as the property borders on a national park and there was so much lush greenery that separated us from the sea. The villa is very private yet so convenient to so many island destinations. It is equipped and stocked with so many things a vacationer needs. I cannot say enough good about this villa or Tom Pinchbeck who was at our beck and call for all our requests. Would we rent again? You bet! St Croix is a wonderful island with so much to do and such wonderful people. Feel confident that renting The Landings will give you an awesome island experience.

My husband as well as my sister and her husband stayed here in February and cannot say enough how much we loved this villa. The location and the decor were so much better than we had imagined . There is everything you need to relax and enjoy yourself right here without going anywhere. We have friends who live on the island and they were amazed that we had found this place online the first time out. It is so serene and beautiful. We would spend the day at the beach and exploring the island and then come back and swim in the pool and have cocktails on the patio overlooking the Salt River Bay. Can't say enough how incredible the view is and how peaceful! We felt like we were miles from everything even though we were actually fairly close to restaurants grocery stores, etc... Tom PInchbeck is a gem as well as a very patient man with answering all our questions and needs. We hope to be able to go back someday and do it all over again. Five stars from all of us! Thank you to the owners for sharing this wonderful treasure with us.

When my wife and I choose the Landings for our vacation rental we were looking for a quiet out of the way place to stay on St. Croix. The Landings was exactly the perfect place for us. The house is very well maintained and beautifully decorated and very well appointed. We were perfectly located to explore the whole island very easily. We found getting around on St. Croix to be fairly easy because of good roads (for the Caribbean that is) and quite polite driving habits. The lack of road signs as well as business signs was a little of a hinderance but all in all we loved the Island and the Landings.

The house is roomy, attractively furnished, clean, and in excellent condition inside and outside. The kitchen is well-equipped. The view to the north over Salt River Bay is lovely, and the location is quiet and private. A car is needed to get around, but it is only a 10-minute drive to Christiansted, and less than a mile to the Anchor Dive Center. Highly recommended! We will be back.

We had planned to come to St Croix and the Landings back in April for our 20th anniversary. My mothers passing that month forced us to try to reschedule. The owners of the Landings were kind enough to allow us to come last week, October 8-15. The house is everything the previous posts have mentioned!! We woke daily to the view down the mountian to the Salt River with sailboats anchored and the Caribbean beyond. Some of the days were clear enough to see the other Virgin Islands in the distance. The early part of each day was spent enjoying our coffee and light breakfast poolside with our good friends who enticed us to visit St Croix with them. They are planning to relocate there and having visited numerous times, wanted to share their future home with us. Usually by 1 or 2 pm, and a Cruzan rum drink or 2, we were ready to do some exploring. As also mentioned previously a Jeep is a good idea for a car rental and also remember that Cruzans drive on the left!!! Our first day was a drive to the rain forest and a visit to Mt. Pellier Domino Club and the famous beer drinking pigs. Other days we went to the beach, hit some laid back beach bars, shopped in downtown Christiansted and drove to the easternmost part of the island, Point Udall which is the easternmost point of the United States territory. Every day we returned to the Landings to enjoy the rest of the afternoon and evening. There are many fine restaurants in St Croix, we particularly enjoy casual places that have good food. At Rumrunners we ate the best conch fritters, had melt in your mouth filets at Bombay Club and a huge lobster at the Golden Rail. In wrapping this up I must thank the owners for providing such a gorgeous house for us to celebrate our special occasion and compliment them in their choice of Tom Pinchbeck as the property manager. He has been friendly and courteous from the first conversation regarding the rental and always available for questions once we were on the island. We hope to return to visit and enjoy the Cruzan hospitality again before our friends move there and also look forward to much longer visits once they build their own home in Paradise!!!

Owner Response: Thank you so much. Kudos should go to Tom, the property manager, who performs his duty in world class fashion.

In the deep winter month of February, we retreated to this spectacular Villa for 10 days - upon arrival at ST Croix airport, Tom greeted us, making us feel like we were welcomed home. The Landing Villa is a secluded retreat . once you arrive, you feel overwhelmed w the beauty, property and the View... the sweeping view of the Landing Beach, river and Ocean... mountain side. - the home is very comfortable, immaculate, and welcoming. the bed is comfortable, bathrooms very clean, cooking is a not a chore w well stocked accoutrements . we never used the a/c, as the house is well ventilated and the cross breezes are exquisite!! the house keeper is very nice and thorough! Our favorite part of the stay was getting up in the am, sitting on the patio drinking coffee and taking in the view. - an early morning swim, starts the day. retreating mid afternoon for a refresh, after a full day of out door activities near by, is a nice alternative. evening under the stars on the patio, dining by candle light, and a night time swim were our rituals.. night time sleeping was so soothing.. the sounds of nature and the every early pre-dawn 3am pouring rains. walk along Landing beach, we found lots and lots of large Conch shells. 2 of which we brought back and left outside the Villa wall.. take in the kayaking at the bottom of the mountain. hit Cane beach its so close and has best snacks and beers. bring your snorkel gear!. a trek to Buck island for snorkeling is well worth the wait, as is an ocean sail. check out the moon rise at the east end of the island, drive thru the rugged terrain and rain forest from the west end. ( jeep highly recommended!) on the weekends please make sure you visit the turtle beach on the south west corner of the island... so much to say and share. you have to experience this place to create your own lasting memories. explore the island!! this villa is centrally located for exploring all directions! PERFECT! if the villa ever goes on the market, call us!

Owner Response: Dear Landings guests, We're so thrilled you not only enjoyed our villa but described a very typical day on island so beautifully as well!! We strive to make our guests feel at home and as special as they deserve while vacationing in St. Croix. We truly want our guests to be pampered and comfy throughout their stay at their home away from home villa! What at first appears as a charming little ranch turns out to be an immaculate and tastefully decorated island retreat. No expense was spared with the decor, everything we needed was provided for as well as having a very calm and relaxing atmosphere. I didn't even see a centipede! Also the grounds were well taken care of and the landscaping was beautiful. This house is great for two couples. The patio has a great view of the Salt River and the waves coming in at Columbus Landing. The pool is a little small and wouldn't be great if you love a big pool party, but it was great just to cool off in. Try to find your way to Sandy Point Beach if possible (hard to find). It's a huge sandy beach where the turtles come in to lay their eggs but only open at certain times (close to Fredrikstead). Also, if you love to see those beautiful sea turtles, go to the Fredrikstead pier after dark. They float on the surface around the lights there and are amazing to watch! Go shopping in Christiansted, have a drink at Rumrunners on the Boardwalk and see the Fort. Domino's up in the rainforest is a must go (See Norma - owner) pigs or no - you might even run into a pirate up there like I did, but watch her special drink called the "mammawanna". I've been to St. Croix a few times and always have a good time. Don't forget to take the float plane over to St. Thomas and then the Ferry to St. John. St. John is a must see (great snorkling there)!

My wife and I stayed here 3/19 to 3/24/09 and loved it! The property was amazing and exactly as represented and pictured. Very beautiful, clean, private and we loved being able to sleep with the windows open. Salt River and a national park are right out the back door and we could see the lights twinkling on St. Thomas and St. John during a few evenings. The interior of the house is tastefully decorated and the landscaping was beautiful. The washer and dryer appeared nearly new, the TV's worked great and we liked having a stereo with an ipod connection. Lots of brochures available for exploring the island and plenty of books for reading if you choose. The pool was nice and clean and we loved soaking up the sun in serenity. As for the island, it is very laid back and there are lots of neat places to explore. Visit Luncheria in Christiansted for an excellent mexican lunch. The Domino Club was neat to visit for a drink in the rain forest. Visit Lobster Reef off N. Shore Road for a drink and excellent view of the coast. Buccaneer Hotel bar provides a great view of sunset. The Galleon was nice for dinner and the food was great. Savant was our best meal and atmosphere! Comanche was nice for a drink or two........Rythms at Rainbow Beach provides a cool place to hang out and enjoy the beach on the west end. On the negative side, the St. Croix Botanical Garden was not that great as it is kind of small. Also, we had one semi-bad experience at the Salt River Marina. On our last day we visited this place for lunch and arrived at about 11:45. The two women working there didn't seem the least bit happy to see us and it seemed as if we were intruding on their own lunch (I could see them eating back in the kitchen)! Won't be back to visit that place. What a great trip! We highly recommend The Landings. Thanks for an awesome mini vacation!
